VFFOTO hybrid White Mist D1/4 NANO-PRO filters
VFFOTO hybrid White Mist D1/4 NANO-PRO filters are medium-strength diffusion filters designed for photography and video. They diffuse light, soften contrast and create a characteristic whitish glow around bright light sources. The result is a softer, dreamy and atmospheric image created directly in camera.
The balanced effect of White Mist D1/4
The D1/4 strength sits between the subtle D1/8 version and the more pronounced D1/2 strength. It provides clearly visible yet controlled image softening. Its effect is most noticeable in backlit scenes and around lamps, car lights, candles and other bright points of light.
Compared with D1/8, it creates a more noticeable glow and reduces overall contrast more strongly. Compared with D1/2, it preserves more detail and more natural image contrast. D1/4 is therefore a versatile choice when you want a recognisable effect that does not overpower the main subject.
Image softening is not an optical flaw in the filter, but its intended creative effect. Choose D1/8 for very subtle softening. If you want a stronger dreamy effect and more pronounced light diffusion, D1/2 is the better choice.
When should you use a White Mist D1/4 filter?

What is the difference between White Mist and Black Mist filters?
White Mist creates a brighter, whitish glow, diffuses light more strongly and reduces overall contrast more noticeably. Black Mist also softens bright highlights, but better preserves deep blacks and image contrast. White Mist D1/4 is suitable for photographers and filmmakers looking for a balanced, dreamy and clearly recognisable effect.
Screw-in and magnetic use in one filter
The hybrid design allows the filter to be used in two ways. You can screw it directly into the lens filter thread or attach it magnetically to a compatible VFFOTO hybrid adapter. The front of the filter remains magnetic, allowing you to attach additional compatible VFFOTO hybrid or magnetic filters.
The NANO-PRO optical range
High-quality optical glass, 16 anti-reflective layers and protective nano coatings help reduce unwanted reflections and make the filter easier to clean. The thin, lightweight frame is designed for convenient use when shooting photographs and video in the field.
