Wide-angle lens hood for VFFOTO 58 mm magnetic filters. It is mounted on VFFOTO magnetic step-up rings with the designation msuXX58 (e.g. msu4958).VFFOTO recommendation:
The VFFOTO sunshade replaces the original lens sunshade when using magnetic filters with a larger diameter than the filter thread on the lens.
Larger filters are fitted via a VFFOTO magnetic step-up ring (magnetic step up ring or VFFOTO magnetic UV step up adapter). Fitting a step up ring will increase the diameter of the lens end so that the original lens hood of your lens cannot be used.
- The lens hood is designed so that when using the magnetic step up ring and an appropriately larger filter, it will not wind up on a wide angle lens (from a focal length of about 14-15mm for a full frame sensor).
- The VFFOTO lens hood is designed to be mounted on a magnetic step up ring, i.e. a reduction ring for larger filters. It is not suitable for fitting to a magnetic filter adapter (= adapter and filter are the same diameter as the thread on your lens) - in this case you can use the original lens hood.
- Even with a permanently fitted sun hood you can comfortably use magnetic filters; the hood sticks to the step-up ring, not to the filter.
The lens hood is designed and manufactured in VFFOTO on a high quality industrial 3D printer using high quality black ABS. To ensure the correct position on the magnetic step up ring, a locking screw made of alloy steel, embedded in a brass threaded sleeve, is used.
The inner part of the screen has a fine knurling to prevent possible reflections.
Surface treatment of the screen to prevent reflections includes hand sanding, application of a base colour and finally a double spray of a special matt black paint for plastics.
