An additional 9 stops
The filter transmits approximately 0.2% of light without having to replace your existing VND filter.
VFFOTO 86 mm ND 512× NANO-PRO US filter for VND filters
VFFOTO ND 512× NANO-PRO US
The VFFOTO magnetic ND 512× filter is primarily designed to extend the range of compatible VFFOTO VND filters. It adds 9 stops, extending the nominal range from VND 2–32× to ND 1,024–16,384×. With a magnetic adapter of the same diameter, it can also be used as a standalone ND 512× filter.
Check compatibility first
Choose the extension filter according to the diameter of the VND filter’s front magnetic interface, rather than the lens thread or the VND filter’s rear thread.
Not sure? Send us the model name of your VND filter or a photograph of its front interface. Our technical support team will check compatibility.

Who is this filter for?
ND 512× allows significantly longer exposures for creatively capturing the movement of water, clouds, people or traffic.
At the same ISO and aperture, ND 512× increases the exposure time by a factor of 512. This is an illustrative example; the actual settings depend on the lighting conditions.

Significantly longer exposures, even in daylight, for creative use of motion.

Long exposures for creatively capturing moving water, clouds and the dynamics of the entire scene.

Blur the movement of water and clouds to enhance the atmosphere of the scene.

Extend the range of your existing VND filter by 9 stops without having to buy a new one.
Extending the range
When the two filters are combined, their nominal filter factors multiply: ND 512× together with VND 2–32× provides a nominal range of ND 1,024–16,384×.
Adjust the light reduction to suit the current lighting conditions.
Quick magnetic attachment to the front of the VND filter.
For long and very long exposures in landscape and creative photography.
Note: The stated ND 1,024–16,384× range is based on the filters’ nominal ratings. The usable light reduction depends on the focal length, VND setting and the scene being photographed.
VFFOTO’s own spectral measurements
The graph shows measured transmission across the 380–780 nm range. Colour neutrality is primarily indicated by the uniformity of the curve across the visible spectrum. Its deviation from approximately 0.2% also indicates the actual density of the filter.

Ultra-slim construction
The optical glass is 0.7 mm thick. Thanks to its ultra-slim frame, the filter adds 2 mm to the setup when mounted, helping to reduce the risk of mechanical vignetting.

Safe use
VND and ND 512× photographic filters are not intended for direct solar observation and do not protect your eyes when looking at the Sun. A VND filter is not suitable for photographing a solar eclipse.
